How companies enter

  1. Step 1Soft landingA first stay in Buenos Aires with booked meetings and sales material in Spanish.
  2. Step 2PilotA paid pilot with a local client or distributor, often still billed from home.
  3. Step 3Local companyA Sociedad por Acciones Simplificada (SAS), which the IGJ can register in Buenos Aires in about 72 hours, or an SRL or SA for larger operations.

Nationals of Mercosur countries can apply for the Mercosur temporary residence, valid for up to 2 years and renewable, starting online in RaDEX and finishing in person in Argentina.

Costs to plan for

  • Company setup with the IGJ, with a minimum capital of two minimum wages for a SAS
  • Accountant and tax filings with ARCA (income tax, VAT and payroll)
  • Office or coworking space in Buenos Aires
  • Salaries and payroll contributions, with frequent wage reviews
