How companies enter

  1. Step 1Soft landingA first trip with booked meetings in Stockholm, Gothenburg or Malmö, often set up with Business Sweden or a regional agency.
  2. Step 2Pilot or partnerA paid pilot with a Swedish corporate or public buyer, or a reseller for the Nordics, often still billed from home.
  3. Step 3Local companyAn aktiebolag (AB) with at least SEK 25,000 in share capital, registered with Bolagsverket through verksamt.se, or a branch of the foreign company.

Founders from outside the EU/EEA who will run their own company in Sweden need the residence permit for self-employed people from Migrationsverket, which asks for at least SEK 200,000 of own funds and at least 51% ownership.
